Back-to-school basics

Most of the information about this class is on the syllabus- you can find it to the right of Emperor Norton.

That document contains information about the topics we cover, what materials are needed, behavioral expectations and a whole lot more!

Please download a copy and read it over- a lot of data is on that sheet!

Movie List

One goal for the class is to see a movie that takes place during the time period we are studying.

After learning about China, for instance, we might see "Mulan."

To see elements of medieval Japan, I often show "Princess Mononoke."

"Lion King" lends to an understanding of Africa, "The Message" helps understand Islam, "Road to El Dorado" shows the Americas, "Ever After" demonstrates the Renaissance and many aspects of medieval Europe appear in Disney's "Robin Hood."

Most films are G, some are PG, a few are PG-13 and none are higher.

There is always an essay attached, which may or may not be categorized as Extra Credit.
