About Ms. Wilson

Introduction & Greetings

My name is Sabrina Wilson and I am the full-time School Counselor here at Parkside Intermediate School.  I hope that I have had an opportunity to meet you, and if I have not yet met you, I hope to meet you soon.

I would like to also take this platform to let you all know a little about me, for those who have not had an opportunity to be introduced to me at Back to School night.  I have been a School Counselor for over 10 years and have worked in a variety of settings not only here on the Peninsula, but also in Oakland and rural San Luis Obispo County. My last two positions have been in local High Schools, Terra Nova HS in Pacifica and Capuchino HS in San Bruno.  I also worked as a Social Worker before beginning my career in schools and as a Day Camp Counselor in elementary schools while attending High School.  I have spent a large portion of my adult life working with children and young adults.  I love my work and look forward to providing a variety of services and experiences to your students whether they are starting off in 6th Grade this year or getting ready to matriculate to High School in a short 10 months.

On a personal note, my husband and I returned to the Bay Area after finishing university at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  We have been living here for 12 years and have settled into the community on Peninsula. I have my own school-aged children (2nd and 5th grades) who attend school in San Mateo and have taught me much about the struggles and joys of raising children. We love to visit local Bay Area events, activities, and museums with our children, travel and keeping up on our reading lists.  My favorite things to do are read and relax with my family.

I look forward to an exciting year ahead and wish to look back on this last school year as a learning experience with the knowledge that we cannot always predict or control our environment, but together we can persevere and move forward in a positive and productive direction.
